IDGo Minidriver by Gemalto is a Microsoft-compliant smart card minidriver that integrates Gemalto IDPrime smart cards and USB tokens with the native Windows smart card framework. It exposes on-card keys and certificates through Microsoft CryptoAPI (CAPI) and Cryptography Next Generation (CNG), enabling certificate-based logon, digital signing, and email or data encryption in Windows without additional middleware.

Key features:

  • Native Windows integration via the Microsoft Smart Card Minidriver specification
  • Compatibility with applications that use CAPI/CNG, including Windows logon, VPN clients, S/MIME email, and TLS client authentication
  • On-card key generation and secure private key storage; certificate enrollment through Active Directory Certificate Services and Microsoft auto-enrollment
  • PIN management (change/unblock) and policy controls, subject to card capabilities
  • Broad support for Gemalto IDPrime smart cards and tokens
  • 32- and 64-bit Windows support with enterprise-friendly deployment options

Typical use cases:

  • Strong two-factor authentication for desktops and remote access
  • Digital document and email signing and encryption
  • Enabling PKI-based security across Windows environments with Gemalto smart cards
